Blockchain-based donation platform CHERRY announced on the 7th that it held a sharing event for children in residential care facilities in partnership with the National Institute of the Arboretum and Garden, the National Sejong Arboretum, and the nonprofit organization YANA.

On the 5th, CHERRY co-hosted the “YANA X Bliss Burger Outreach Program” at the National Sejong Arboretum, with approximately 90 children in care and volunteers participating. Handmade burger brand Bliss Burger provided meals for the event.

The program was designed as a collaborative social contribution initiative that combines the natural and experiential facilities of the National Sejong Arboretum, CHERRY’s social contribution and donation platform capabilities, and YANA’s expertise in child welfare. It aimed to provide children in care with opportunities to enjoy various activities in nature while building emotional connections with volunteers.

Among the volunteers were actress Shin Ae-ra, a YANA ambassador, as well as celebrities Lee Mi-do and Shim Jin-hwa, along with other volunteers, Shim Sang-taek, Chairman of the Korea Arboretum and Garden Management Institute, and Kang Shin-goo, Director of the National Sejong Arboretum. Participants were paired one-on-one with the children and took part in emotional support activities, including tours of the arboretum’s greenhouses and gardens and indoor recreational programs.

The “YANA X Bliss Burger Outreach Program” is a social contribution initiative in which YANA visits residential care facilities for children to provide emotional support programs and meals. Launched in August 2022, the program has been held 37 times and, through this event, expanded its activities beyond the Seoul metropolitan area to other regions for the first time.

CHERRY has continued to expand its role beyond simply facilitating online fundraising by partnering with companies, public institutions, and nonprofit organizations. The platform has collaborated with various organizations to operate participatory donation services that connect online and offline experiences, including CHERRY Photo, CHERRY Walk, and donation kiosks.

Lee Soo-jung, CEO of CHERRY, said, “By bringing together the expertise and resources of each organization, we were able to provide emotional support to the children. We will continue to work with various partners to create social value through meaningful initiatives.”

Meanwhile, CHERRY is Korea’s first blockchain-based donation platform, currently bringing together approximately 500 donation organizations and more than 300,000 members.
