Korea's first blockchain-based charity platform CHERRY, which started as a national project supported by the Ministry of Science and ICT and Korea Internet & Security Agency, held the European Union's 'ICT Blockchain Standardization Roundtable' (ICT Verticals and Horizontals for Blockchain Standardization), and was introduced as a representative best case of blockchain technology.

The 'ICT Blockchain Standardization Roundtable' hosted by the European Commission, an administrative organization of the EU, is an in-depth presentation of blockchain application cases and seeking direction for standardization activities with the participation of many international technology standardization experts such as INATBA, ISO, and IEEE. The forum has been held monthly since October 2020.

It was introduced as a best practice in the discussion on how blockchain can contribute to the 17 SDG (Sustainable Development Goals) categories led by the United Nations, the subject of this roundtable.

CHERRY is actively using blockchain technology for the public interest purpose of resolving distrust in donations and revitalizing the stagnant donation culture. Recognized as an exemplary block chain application case exceeding 140 and 700 campaigns, it was specially invited.

E4Net Co., Ltd., a developer and operator of CHERRY, is ambitious to complete the 'End-to-End' donation tracking process that records the distribution of donations and the usage of the final beneficiary in the blockchain by expanding the fundraising process currently in operation at this meeting. 2021 goals revealed. The fact that beneficiaries can record donations using prepaid cards in the blockchain and transparently disclose it to donors until the final use of the donations drew attention from overseas blockchain experts.

Meanwhile, CHERRY has recently been listed as a representative application case in the blockchain technology standard (ISO/DTR 3242) being prepared by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), and it is known that the invitation to this roundtable was also actively recommended by ISO.

Lee Sujeong , CEO of E4Net Co., Ltd., who participated in the roundtable, said, “CHERRY, a blockchain-based charity platform, has been conducting campaigns to solve various social problems that contribute to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.” Through this, we will not only revitalize the domestic donation culture, but also grow into a global platform that can contribute to the sustainable development of the world.”
