Cherry (CHERRY), a blockchain-based donation platform, announced on the 10th that it operated a donation-linked photo booth program called “Sharing Photo Booth” at the Seoul Plaza Ice Rink in partnership with the Seoul Community Chest of Korea, engaging approximately 1,000 citizens and presenting a new model of everyday giving.
The “Sharing Photo Booth” is a participatory donation program utilizing Cherry’s donation-linked photo booth service, Cherry Photo. When visitors to the ice rink take photos at the booth, the full photo fee is donated to the Seoul Community Chest of Korea.
The program was operated for approximately two months and attracted around 1,000 participants. Cherry Photo is designed to automatically link photo-taking with donations while ensuring transparent management of donation outcomes.
Lee Soo-jung, CEO of Cherry, said, “As the Seoul Plaza Ice Rink is a popular winter destination visited by many citizens, it serves as an ideal space to lower the barriers to giving. Through Cherry Photo, we aim to foster a culture of sharing where anyone can easily participate.”
An official from the Seoul Community Chest of Korea added,“This program, where citizens’ enjoyable photo experiences immediately translate into donations, will serve as an opportunity to make the culture of giving more approachable and widespread.”
Cherry stated that it plans to continue expanding donation into everyday experiences through various participatory giving initiatives, including Cherry Photo.
