CHERRY, Korea's first blockchain Charity Platform, announced on the 31st that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the International Digital Asset Council (IDAC) for the social diffusion of digital asset-based social contribution campaigns.

The International Digital Asset Council (IDAC) is a non-profit organization that conducts digital asset diffusion activities in the fields of social contribution, culture and art, education, and environment. It conducts activities such as 'supporting budding artists using NFTs (non-fungible tokens)' and 'digital asset education for socially marginalized groups'. It is conducting a campaign to build a 'Digital Asset ESG Social Contribution Network Platform' to conduct ESG (environmental, social, and governance) activities based on digital assets and share the results.

'CHERRY' is a blockchain-based Charity Platform developed for the first time in Korea, where donor organizations can register their donation campaigns on CHERRY, and donors can donate to the campaign of their choice. Users can easily donate even in small amounts, and the process and flow of donations are transparently disclosed through blockchain technology. It has established a network with more than 340 donor organizations, including Community Chest of Korea Social Welfare Foundation, UNICEF Korea Committee, and Good Neighbors.

Under the MOU, the two parties will work together to: collaborate on the social diffusion of digital assets; plan and implement ESG activities based on digital assets; build a social contribution network of citizens, government, academia, and industry; cooperate on the global diffusion of social contribution campaigns; and spread digital asset-based social contribution services.

"Through this collaboration, we hope to spread digital assets to various sectors of society," said Eunseok Won, Chairman of the Board of the International Digital Asset Council. "We expect that people who are unfamiliar with digital assets will be able to easily participate in IDAC's campaigns through CHERRY." We will plan ESG activities that involve various organizations based on digital assets."

"CHERRY provides a simple donation system through its smartphone app," said Lee Su-jeong, CEO of CHERRY, "and we plan to distribute donation devices in the form of kiosks (unmanned ordering machines) so that more people can participate in donations." "Through this collaboration, we expect digital asset-based social contribution activities to spread more widely."
