CHERRY, Korea’s first blockchain charity platform, signed a fundraising agreement with Fruit of Love in Seoul

Korea's first blockchain-based charity platform CHERRY announced on the 18th that it has entered into a fundraising agreement with the Seoul Social Welfare Community Chest (Chairman Yoon Young-seok, hereinafter Seoul Fruit of Love) and will start raising business smartphone donations for the underprivileged.

The signing ceremony was attended by officials such as Lee Sujeong, CEO of E4Net, which develops and operates CHERRY, Kim Yong-hee, secretary general of the Seoul Social Welfare Community Chest, and director Yoo Ki-gi of the cooperative organization Symbiosis Social Cooperative. Through this agreement, the two organizations will join forces in conducting a fundraising campaign in line with the era of digital transformation.

This fundraising campaign was designed based on the fact that the digital influence has strengthened throughout society and the economic landscape has changed significantly, leading to a decrease in jobs for the underprivileged who lack digital infrastructure. Through the campaign, a total of 1,000 people were supported with smartphones, and the underprivileged who received the smartphones were provided with jobs such as courier delivery, used goods collection, and traditional market delivery agency using the 'Town Worker App. be able to

This campaign is more meaningful in that it can help the long-term self-reliance by providing the beneficiaries with an opportunity to work instead of delivering a one-time donation. In particular, in the case of the socially underprivileged, communication costs act as a great burden and many cases are unable to open a smartphone due to bad credit, etc., so it is explained that it will be a more efficient donation program. The project promotion and performance management of the campaign is supported by the Symbiosis Social Cooperative.

This smartphone support campaign for the underprivileged is aimed at raising KRW 45 million by March 31, and can be participated by downloading the ‘CHERRY – Hope Sharing Platform’ app from Google Play or the App Store.

Lee Sujeong, CEO of E4Net, said, "CHERRY's vision is to warmly change the world through sharing and empathy through technology and to shed light on the underprivileged. It is more meaningful to know the class and to be able to help with CHERRY's technology.”

Chairman Yoo Ki-ki of Symbiosis Social Cooperative said, “I am grateful that we can do delivery activities more safely and conveniently by providing work smartphones to village co-delivery workers with a majority of the silver generation.” We will manage it well and return it as a good influence to society.”

In response, Kim Yong-hee, secretary general of Seoul Fruit of Love, said, “I am delighted to be able to provide an opportunity for self-reliance and development to the underprivileged who have been unable to find jobs due to the drop in smartphone penetration.” We will continue to make efforts to promote participation in donations.”

On the other hand, CHERRY is a charity platform designed to minimize the risk of misuse of donations by recording and transparently disclosing all information on donations raised and delivered in real time on the blockchain, and automatically delivering donations only through smart contracts. With a mobile app that boasts transparent blockchain technology and excellent usability, it is being evaluated as leading the digital donation culture in the era of digital transformation.
