Korea's first blockchain-based charity platform CHERRY held a business agreement ceremony with the Salvation Army Korean Army (hereafter, Salvation Army) to create a transparent donation culture and support the vulnerable.

At the signing ceremony held on November 30th, CHERRY and the Salvation Army created a transparent donation culture using CHERRY's blockchain technology, and aroused new interest in donations from the younger generation in a novel and fun way. They promised to cooperate to create a healthy donation ecosystem.

The Salvation Army plans to showcase the transparent donation execution process of the Salvation Army to donors by collaborating with CHERRY, which has blockchain technology that discloses the entire process of donation flow from fundraising to use. In addition, a VR exhibition hall jointly produced with CHERRY will be presented, and a simple donation project will be carried out where you can directly participate in donations by pressing a button. Meanwhile, the ‘CHERRY School’ program, an online volunteer school that nurtures young generations into future philanthropists by giving students online volunteering opportunities, is also running at the same time.

The Salvation Army said, “Through this agreement, we expect that the sincerity and reliability of the Salvation Army, a symbol of sharing in Korea, will be an opportunity to be confirmed again through CHERRY.”

Lee Sujeong, CEO of E4Net, an IT company that has been developing and operating CHERRY for 26 years, said, “It is an honor to be able to sign a business agreement with the Salvation Army, which operates a charity pot, which is synonymous with donations that everyone knows.” We will do our best to help donors love us through a transparent blockchain system.”
