Korea’s first blockchain-based platform ‘CHERRY Hope Sharing Platform’ (hereafter referred to as CHERRY) announced on the 10th that it had exceeded 100 million won in donations.

This can be seen as a remarkable achievement achieved by practical services based on blockchain core technology at a time when competition for commercialization of blockchain services is intensifying. Since opening last December with the 2019 Minister of Science and Technology commendation, CHERRY has been carrying out a fundraising campaign with about 30 organizations, including the Green Umbrella Children's Foundation, the Korea Association for Leukemia and Childhood Cancer, and the Ewha Womans University General Social Welfare Center.

Recently, CHERRY held an SNS donation relay event to help neighbors suffering from Corona 19, drawing participation from various fields, including social leaders such as Choi Jong-won, CEO of Widam Korean Medicine Hospital, Professor Lee Seon-young of Hoseo University, and Jeong Ju-ho, CEO of Startrain. It is gathering topics through social media, such as over 30 million won in donations related to Corona 19 alone while conducting relays.

On the other hand, all students and staff of Daum School, a school for youth defecting from North Korea, which received support for youth psychological recovery programs with donations from CHERRY, also voluntarily participated in the donation relay. The students, who were the beneficiaries of the donation campaign, donated directly to help their neighbors. Sharing toward neighbors creates a virtuous cycle in which sharing returns, creating a warm impression.

Lee Sujeong , CEO of CHERRY, said, “Students who were helped by CHERRY are helping again through CHERRY. It is truly moving to see them extend a warm helping hand for their neighbors who are more difficult than themselves.”
