Charity platform CHERRY holds a donation campaign for ‘Turkiye Earthquake Recovery’

Blockchain charity platform "CHERRY" held a unique donation campaign to support the recovery of earthquake damage in Turkiye and Syria.

Right after the earthquake, CHERRY held an emergency aid campaign to raise donations with donation organizations such as the Community Chest of Korea, UNICEF Korean Committee, Salvation Army Christmas Kettle, and Concern Worldwide. Also donations are continuing as fundraising campaigns spread to social networking service (SNS) channels and communities due to the response of CHERRY users.

CHERRY also held a participatory donation campaign that allows people to participate in donations in their daily lives as the earthquake damage is large and the period of daily recovery is expected to be prolonged. CHERRY will recruit donations through CHERRY Walk, an in-app walking donation function, until the 12th of next month, and will donate an additional 1,000 won per participant. Any donor who whishes to participate can join the donation just by walking with their daily steps.

"We express our deep condolences to the victims of Turkiye and Syria who were damaged by the earthquake," said Lee Sujeong, CEO of CHERRY. "CHERRY has raised more than 7.5 billion won in donations so far through a blockchain charity platform." and "With CHERRY's desire to create a transparent donation ecosystem, many sponsors trust and donate to CHERRY, and are actively participating in the earthquake recovery campaign," she said.

Also she said, "CHERRY will continue to help recover the damage, and we hope this donation will help them overcome the difficulties."
