Blockchain Charity Platform CHERRY Signs Citizen Steps Donation Agreement with Namyangju City

Citizens Helping Citizens...Creating a New Paradigm of Giving with Local Governments

CHERRY, the first blockchain-based Charity Platform in Korea, announced on the 28th that it has signed a business agreement with Namyangju City (Mayor Joo Kwang-duk), Gyeonggi Social Welfare Foundation (Chairman Lee Sun-sun), Namyangju Community Security Council (Co-Chairman Yoo Byung-sun), 16 town, village, and district community security councils, and Namyangju Walking Federation (Chairman Yang Bum-seok) to revitalize the sharing culture in the community.

This agreement will allow any citizen to participate in donations using 'CHERRY Walk,' a walking donation feature of the CHERRY App, and is expected to be an example of making sharing a way of life by focusing on 'how' to donate rather than 'how much' to donate, making donations interesting and enjoyable.

Participation is simple. After installing the CHERRY app and registering, click on CHERRY Walk and select a campaign in your area from the list of 'Namyangju Citizen Steps' campaigns to walk.

"A new chapter in the donation culture has been opened where citizens can share by walking in their daily lives," said Namyangju Mayor Joo Gwang-duk. "We hope that the small but precious touch of sharing will spread to 'more than imagined' sharing."

"CHERRY's vision is to warm the world through sharing and empathy through technology and to shine a light on the underprivileged," said Soo-Jung Lee, CEO of CHERRY. "We are honored that our technology can contribute to the revitalization of the sharing culture in the community."

CHERRY's Charity Platform has engaged generations of donors with events such as the CHERRY Walk, where people can donate while walking, and the Dance Challenge, where people can donate while dancing. In addition, the platform continues to introduce various donation methods that make it easier and more fun to participate in donations in everyday life, such as the CHERRY Donation Kiosk, where you can donate by simply ordering at a restaurant, and CHERRY Photo, where you can donate by taking a four-cut photo.
