CHERRY Co., Ltd., the operator of the blockchain-based donation platform CHERRY, has completed a pilot test of its Barrier-Free Donation Kiosk, designed to enable individuals with visual impairments to donate independently. With this milestone, the company is advancing its mission to build a more inclusive donation environment.
The pilot project was conducted in collaboration with the Jeju Welfare Center for the Visually Impaired, where more than ten participants with visual impairments tested the system. Using features such as voice guidance through earphones, Braille keypads, and voice command functions, participants successfully completed the donation process without assistance.
Building on this success, CHERRY is expanding its partnerships to enhance social impact. The company recently signed an agreement with JejuRobuteo, a local influencer group in Jeju, to jointly promote the Barrier-Free Donation Kiosk, develop social impact content, and raise awareness about inclusive giving. Together, they plan to produce and promote donation campaigns supporting rehabilitation and leisure activities for individuals with visual impairments.
CHERRY has also entered into a business partnership with Tteumdeulida Co., Ltd., a nationwide rice bowl restaurant franchise operating 150 stores across Korea. Through this collaboration, the two companies will pilot and commercialize a barrier-free kiosk-based donation and self-ordering service, aiming to improve accessibility for customers with disabilities and create more inclusive retail environments.
“Technology should never become another barrier for anyone,” said Soo-jung Lee, CEO of CHERRY. “The Barrier-Free Donation Kiosk represents our first step toward realizing inclusive values through technology—creating a donation culture where anyone, regardless of ability, can participate freely.”
Following the successful Jeju pilot, CHERRY plans to expand the service to local governments, public institutions, and ESG-driven corporations across Korea, while also introducing its inclusive donation solutions to the global market.
