Charity Platform CHERRY, MOU with Hanwha Hotels & Resorts "Donate while walking"

CHERRY, Korea's first blockchain Charity Platform, announced on the 9th that it has signed a business agreement with Hanwha Hotels & Resorts to revitalize the donation culture.

CHERRY is a Charity Platform that utilizes the advantages of blockchain technology. It is equipped with 'micro-tracking' technology that allows you to check the utilization of donations in real time. In particular, CHERRY is attracting attention from the MZ generation by introducing various donation methods such as dance challenges.

As part of the agreement, Hanwha Hotels & Resorts will launch the Sneaker Day campaign, where guests can donate by simply walking. Sneaker Day is a campaign that supports the travel of children in orphanages through Yana, a donation organization, if the total goal of 6 million steps is achieved.

To participate in the campaign, participants can select the Hanwha Hotels & Resorts campaign on the CHERRY app and start walking. You can check the ranking of participants and yourself in real time like a mobile game. The campaign runs from May 15th to 31st and is open to anyone, including members and guests.

The top three participants with the most steps during the campaign will receive gift certificates (100,000 won, 70,000 won, and 50,000 won) from Hanwha Hotels & Resorts. Participants who donate more than 10,000 steps will also receive a Starbucks gift certificate through a lottery. Last month, Hanwha held a "Sneaker Day" for employees, which reached its goal in 10 days. The donation will be delivered to the organization through CHERRY at a later date.

CHERRY is transparently disclosing the entire process of donation flow from collection to use through blockchain. It is being used by 330 donor organizations, including Community Chest of Korea Social Welfare Foundation and UNICEF Korea Committee. To date, it has collected more than 8.8 billion won in donations.
