‘mom Comfort: Point Mom Care’ campaign for mothers of children with childhood cancer
‘CHERRY’, Korea’s first blockchain-based charity platform, joins hands with Lotte Members, Lotte Medical Foundation, and the Korea Leukemia and Childhood Cancer Association to carry out a ‘mom comfort: point mom care’ fundraising campaign for mothers of children with childhood cancer. On the 14th, four organizations held a donation delivery ceremony in a non-face-to-face meeting, followed by a health checkup for mothers of childhood cancer patients and a healing program for mental health at Bobas Memorial Hospital on the 19th.
‘Mom Comfort: Point Mom Care’ is a project to protect the health and mind of mothers of children with childhood cancer who are having a difficult day while going through the treatment process together. The amount raised through the CHERRY charity platform and L.POINT raised through Lotte Members' L.POINT app are delivered to the Korea Leukemia and Childhood Cancer Association for physical and health support for mothers with children.
CHERRY and Lotte Members delivered about 31 million won raised from January to June this year through this delivery ceremony. This is an amount that can support about 60 mothers of children suffering from childhood cancer. The target mothers can receive special health checkups and mental healing programs at Lotte Medical Foundation Bobas Memorial Hospital for five days from October 19th. done.
On the 19th, a mother of a child with cancer who participated in the field said with a bright expression, “I was busy taking care of my child, so I didn’t have enough opportunities to take care of my own health. I'm glad I was able to take it,' he said.
Meanwhile, CHERRY and Lotte Members started raising funds in September 2020, and on March 10, early this year, they first supported comprehensive health checkups and small-scale horticultural healing programs for 35 mothers of leukemia patients.
Lee Sujeong , CEO of E4Net, a 26-year-old IT company that developed and operated CHERRY, who participated in the donation delivery ceremony, said, “Our transparent blockchain technology will be used as a valuable channel to help mothers of childhood cancer patients who cannot afford to take care of their own health while taking care of their children. It is an honor to be able to do so,” he said. “We will continue to do our best to help share love with more neighbors through warm technology.”
Park Jin-no, director of Bobas Memorial Hospital of Lotte Medical Foundation, said, “I am delighted to be part of a meaningful project to find health for mothers of sick children.” said.
Heo In-young, secretary general of the Korea Leukemia and Child Cancer Association, said, “Thank you for gathering warm hearts for mothers of children with cancer during a difficult time.”
Meanwhile, CHERRY is the first blockchain-based charity platform in Korea that was selected as a national project by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Korea Internet & Security Agency in 2019. It raises about 2.3 billion won from members and is evaluated as the most popular domestic blockchain commercialization service.
