Due to COVID-19, offline charity events are suspended, and the need to hold social contribution events online is increasing.
CHERRY, Korea's first charity walking event using on-tact technology, 'The 9th Human Love Life Walking Festival'
During the event, a total of 815 people participated, walked a total of 3,396,162 steps and raised 15 million won, which was donated to prevent suicide.

Korea’s first blockchain-based charity platform ‘CHERRY Hope Sharing Platform (hereafter referred to as CHERRY)’ announced on the 16th that it successfully completed the ‘9th People Love Life Walk Festival’, the first on-tact walking charity event in Korea for suicide prevention.
Ontact is a concept that adds On to the untact, which means non-face-to-face, and refers to a new social trend of face-to-face online.
The World Human Bridge Anyang Regional Headquarters has held the event offline every year in Anyang since 2012. However, this year, with the purpose of participating in social distancing due to Corona 19, we planned the first on-tact walking festival in Korea and conducted it with CHERRY.
This event drew attention as everything from application to participation was non-face-to-face. 815 participants who delivered donations via mobile through CHERRY wore the delivered group T-shirts and participated in this online event held from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm on the 13th. This event was held in such a way that each participant took part in an online event in which they walked more than 1,004 steps within an hour by using the step counter function in the CHERRY app at their location. In particular, by revealing the profile information and rankings of the contestants in real time, even though they are physically separated, they can feel the feeling of participating in the competition together in their hearts, making it possible to proceed with a thrilling competition just like in real life.
Participants who completed the walk created warmth by sharing their good influence, such as uploading their records on social media and encouraging their friends to participate.
The “9th Love for People, Love for Life Walking Festival (non-face-to-face)” campaign with the World Human Bridge Anyang Regional Headquarters and CHERRY Platform continues to collect donations until September 30th even after the walking event ends.
Lee Sujeong , CEO of E4Net, which operates and develops CHERRY, said, "We decided to plan a walking festival using on-tact technology to overcome the situation where offline events are canceled due to COVID-19 and fundraising activities in the field of social contribution are shrinking." , "We will continue to make innovative attempts to benefit the world with technology with more diverse organizations in the future."
